Type: Arson Investigation and Analysis
Location: Faircoat
The party continues investigating a string of suspicious house fires throughout Faircoat. They begin with a damaged home showing signs of a shattered window with melted glass shards inside and outside. The fire was originally blamed on a burnt dinner, but the evidence—including a familiar alchemical aroma—suggests intentional arson. The smell reminds Krus of Dorik.
At Martin Quill’s home, they discover additional signs of arson: melted glass shards at a bedroom nook, a window that was clearly cut, and a completely destroyed roof. A spicy, herby aroma resembling cooking spices is noted.
At Torsh’s residence, there is significant smoke damage and a deposit of gray powder, likely the residue of a glass bomb. The party takes a sample.
The party returns to the school and presents the collected samples to Morlimgal. The gray powder is confirmed to be a fire extinguisher compound, and the fire bombs are identified as alchemist’s fire. These findings suggest the fires are part of a deliberate campaign, possibly connected to the Lagotto gang, who are rumored to operate out of a gambling house named Buried Treasure.
