¶ Luxo: The starting Island (and possibly more?)
Our stalwart adventurers began their Journey on Luxo, an island cut off from the rest of the world by a large storm known as The Long Eye.The town which shares the same name as the island was once an export colony of the Sun Grove Islands. Mudders, the name the locals gave themselves to celebrate their identity, worked hard to harvest Luxo's unique natural resources; uncluding magically attuned Pearls, and the hallucinogenic drug Swine derived from them; mud from portions of the island, which is said to reverse the visible effects of aging; and more common resources such as lumber and fish.
- Coal Mountain: a small steep mountain stabs up out of the ocean to the north-east of the main island
-- Mining opperation uncovers Fairy Light crystals deep in a cave
- Flower Meadow: lush meadow of vibrant red flowers that fade as soon as they are picked
- Rock Forest: a portion of forest north of the meadow has been petrified
- Central Valley: a small valley devides the island roughly in half along a north-south line, carved out by a small winding river.
- The Ferry: at the delta of the river, a ferry boat runs between the main landmass and a small arrowhead island used for logging on the smaller island.
- Small Waterfall: on the eastern side of the valley a waterfall spills out of a cave
-- strange noises have been heard inside scaring the inhabitants, but eddible mushrooms grow just inside the mouth of the cave
- Dark Obelisk: a dark obelisk of smooth black stone guts into the air in a field on the eastern isde of the island.
--spikes covered in human remains point out from the obelisk about 10 feet below the surface of the ground
- Salt Marsh: at the eastern edge of the island a large saltwater marsh prevents solid housing projects and has claimed a few villagers
- Whirlpool: South East of Luxo a whirlpool forms were currents cross and push against rocks
-- a ship wrecked within its swirls some time before the village was established.
- DADA: Members of DADA pride themselves on their mastery of magic and the archane. They were both political and academic in their endeavours and had their sights set on control
- Mudders: a political and professional distiction, mudders were the land based workers involved in lumber and mud industries, as well as farmers and the like. Also a general title for people from Luxo
- Pearlers: The unique pearls on the island were such a large industry that they constituted their own representation in government and ran in their own social circles
- Salters: the counterpart to the mudders, the Salters' professions revolved around the sea, including fishing, sailing, and salvage opperations
- Natives: the colonists from the Sun Grove Islands encountered a small group of indigenous people who quickly integrated or died off due to illness and old age
- Our heros where all together on the first ship to escape the Long Eye since the storm's formation 73 years before our story takes place
- The Long Eye caused several small ships to wreck and be washed ashore on Luxo, including the Gnome vessel Sail by the Stars, which carried the parents of the PC Phigli
- Luxo was created by the party in session 0 and 0.5 using the game The Quiet Year, as inspired by the D&D podcast The Adventure Zone (season 3 Ethersea)
- While DADA could stand for Defense Against the Dark Arts, the organization insists it is in no way related to a certain british fiction fantasy series, and more importantly that their focus is on more than just "dark" arts
